Hello Friday - Preparing for the Year to Come



Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week. Christmas is now squarely in the rear-view mirror. Here we are; on the cusp of a new year 😊! You may be thinking that it seems like only yesterday that you were welcoming in 2019. Where did the time go?

As you look forward to ringing in the New Year, are you giving any consideration to slowing down and properly closing out 2019? Rather than “rushing” right into the New Year with no consideration for the last 365 days, take some time to prepare your mind, body and spirit for the year ahead by consciously closing out and considering what transpired the past 12 months. Following are 3 ways to honor and close out the past and prepare yourself for 2020:

  • Reflect – Here are some questions you can ask yourself and jot down your thoughts to begin the process: a) what went well and what did I do that contributed to that success? b) where was I challenged and what can I learn from these situations? c) with whom and on what did I spend my time that provided positive outcomes?

  • Repent – We are all human and experience shortcomings. Acknowledging this is part of growth and will enable you to move forward in more healthy ways. Here are some questions you can ask yourself that might provide insight: a) where can I improve? b) what negative or limiting beliefs might I need to shed for a more successful 2020? c) are there any situations/experiences I encountered in 2019 that I need to rectify?

  • Renew – Clearing your mind and heart of past weights will give you energy and allow you to focus on your path ahead. Determine the person you wish to be; determine how you want people to experience you and let 2020 be the year that you begin or continue on this journey.
