Happy Friday! Today you will most likely be focused on finishing up any last minute work tasks so that you can wind down and get ready for the weekend ahead of you. Take a minute and reflect on your past week; contemplate the following questions:
Was there any time this past week that you experienced a wave of happiness and joy?
Was there any time that you felt so delighted by an unexpected little miracle that you couldn’t stop from smiling?
Was there any time in your busy day(s) that you found time to give “joy” to someone else?
You have probably heard it said that “the days are long, but the years are short.” Most likely, you fill your days with obligations and appointments, only reserving “joy” for special occasions, holidays and sometimes the weekend. Why do you do this? It does not have to be this way.
Do you want “joy” to be the story of your years?
I am certain you answered that question with a resounding, “YES”! JOY is your birthright; but you must make it a daily choice, a habit, a promise you make to yourself. Joy needs to be woven into the fabric of your being.
Feeling Joy is essential to your well-being. It is important that you play and enjoy life. Encourage yourself to experience joy every single day by doing something that makes your heart sing. The more light you allow within you, the brighter your world will be. It is up to you to illuminate the world with your smile, your talents, your gifts. Making a decision to share your gifts gives joy to others, and like a magnet, it comes back to you. Remember, joy is not in things it is in us.
This weekend, practice giving yourself the gift of joy and passing it on to others. Each day make room for joy in your heart. Invite a little joy in and you will see how quickly that little grows into much more.
Have a GREAT day; Have a GREAT weekend.
