GOOD MORNING MONDAY – AFFIRMATIVE THOUGHTS FOR A GREAT WEEK
Are you choosing to pave the road of your life with a mindset of abundance or scarcity?
Good Morning. It is Monday 😊. Are you ready for another GREAT day and week of connections with others? What type of mindset will you allow in your life this week? Your mindset determines the road on which you will travel. Will you choose a mindset of abundance or scarcity?YOUR MINDSET MATTERS AND IMPACTS EVERYTHING IN YOUR LIFE! At any moment, YOU have the power to choose – Hallelujah!
The scarcity pathway will lead you to experience a life not fully lived, overflowing with strong negative reactions and countless missed opportunities and experiences. Opting for the abundance pathway, will lead you to live your life to its fullest, exuding happiness taking full advantage of and enjoying new opportunities that come your way.
One of the hallmarks of the abundance mentality is the belief that there is enough for everyone vs. a belief in lack, therefore, needing to hoard resources. The following story of the wheat farmer is a great depiction of an “abundance mindset”:
The Wheat Farmer
There was a farmer who grew excellent quality wheat and every season he won the award for the best grown in his county. One year a reporter from the local newspaper interviewed the farmer and learned that each Spring the man shared his seed with his neighbors so that they too could plant it in their fields.
“How can you afford to share your best wheat seed with your neighbors when they are entering their crops in the competition with yours?" the reporter asked.
“Why that's very simple,” the farmer explained. "The wind picks up pollen from the developing wheat and carries it from field to field. If my neighbors grow inferior wheat, cross-pollination will steadily degrade the quality of all the wheat, including mine. If I am to grow good wheat, I must help my neighbors grow good wheat".
The reporter realized how the farmer's explanation also applied to peoples' lives in the most fundamental way. Those who want to live meaningfully and well must help enrich the lives of others; for the value of a life is measured by the lives it touches. Those who choose to be happy must help others find happiness; for the welfare of each is bound up with the welfare of all.
Do you know if you are living your life from a mindset of abundance or scarcity? Here are some examples of each as food for thought:
Slowing down and taking the time to notice the types of thoughts that are circling in your head can help you begin to make a conscious effort to shift your thoughts from scarcity to abundance.
If you find that you are getting less than amazing results in any area of your life, ask yourself, “are my thoughts about this specific situation based in fear and scarcity? If so, ask yourself, “what do I need to do to shift my mindset to abundance?” Write down your ideas, talk to someone about them so that you have an “accountability partner”, and implement the changes.
The path you have traveled so far in life is not set in stone. The beauty of life is that you can choose to do it different at any moment. Deciding to shift your mindset is the first step. Decide today to live a life filled with a mentality of abundance vs. scarcity.
Life is short. Live large and believe in the endless possibilities that life has to offer. Choose to live an abundance life creating memorable moments you can cherish forever.
There is a famous quote that suggests, “The secret to having it all is believing you already do.” Choose that mindset this week. Have a GREAT day and a GREAT week.
