Happy Friday. Hope you had a GREAT week! This past week I was doing some reflecting on leaders who I saw as great role models. One of the people that quickly came to mind for me was Mother Teresa. When I was a young girl, I so wanted to meet her. I admired her for so many things; the way she looked at the world, the caring that she gave to all those she encountered, her mindset of service, etc. I share the following poem in hopes that it will provide you some insight or provide you an aha moment about embracing humanity in the here and now.
Mother Teresa's Anyway Poem
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway.
Hope this poem provides you inspiration to live your life every moment doing what you can to make the world a better place because you were here! Become the best version of you each day. Connect with and care for those with whom you come into contact. Doing these things will truly make your time on this earth much more fulfilling!
Have a GREAT day; have a GREAT weekend!
