Good Morning; it is Monday again! How was your weekend? I hope you took some time to “sharpen your axe”. Taking the time to do this is important because it prepares you to fully engage in the week ahead, bring the best version of yourself to each moment and feel invigorated while engaging in all life has to offer.
Life is truly amazing. It is a gift. It is a miracle. It is both exhilarating and challenging. On your road of life, you will experience many ups, downs, twists, turns, opportunities, disappointments, etc. There will be times in life when challenges arise, opportunities materialize, and you do you do not know which way to go. When this happens, ask yourself the same question that Alice asked the Cheshire Cat,
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”, asked Alice. “That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.
Do not take Cat’s response lightly. Truly ask yourself, “where do I want to go”, “what is the life that I want to live”, “what are the dreams I want to pursue”? Listen to your inner voice; it will guide you. Know that you have many, many options. Life is for living, exploring, loving, taking chances and making mistakes. Life is Here and Life is Now. Pay attention to your instincts and the decisions that you are making in your life every day. Life is right in front of you. Open your eyes and heart to it. It will provide you clues to what brings you joy and the path you want to take.
What is your dream for your life? We all have a dream and a purpose etched in our heart and mind. What are you committed to do to find and live your dream? How will you activate your purpose? Going down this path will not be easy. It will take courage because there will be ups and downs along the way. Only you can decide that your dreams are worth what you will need to experience so that you can realize them.
I was recently reading about Walt Disney, his life and challenges. He risked security to realize his dreams. He risked security for growth. Often, he “bet it all” believing in himself and his vision. He said, “somehow I can’t believe that there are any heights that can’t be scaled by one who knows the secret of making their dreams come true. The special secret, I believe, can be summarized in the four C’s. They are Curiosity, Confidence, Courage and Constancy. The greatest of these is Confidence. When you believe a thing, believe it all the way, implicitly and unquestionably.”
On your path to pursue your dreams, remember the four C’s:
Curiosity: Dream BIG. Ask questions. Don’t be afraid to push the envelope.
Courage: Work through your fear, instead of being blocked by it.
Constancy: Commit daily to your dreams. Put your plan together. Work your plan each day.
Confidence: Believe in yourself and your vision; no matter what others’ think and say.
Write down the 4 C’s somewhere you can see them each day. Commit to yourself that you will work on applying these principles to your dreams daily.
This quote by Caroline Myss represents this very notion of living YOUR life and following YOUR dreams, “Do you really want to look back on your life and see how wonderful it could have been had you not been afraid to live it”?
Every day is an opportunity. Every day is a second chance. What will you do with yours today? You get 86,400 seconds today. What a gift! Untie the ribbon 😊 Make today count!!
