At the beginning of each year we can obsess so much about our “resolutions” and “goals”, along with the action plans that were created to achieve them that we forget about being “present”. It is important to have visions, dreams and goals for our future, but if we are so fixated on them, that we forget to be present in the here and now we may be missing out! While you are looking to the future, you need to remind yourself to be present for and enjoy the season of your life that you are living. Doing this does not mean that you do not want change and improvement and that you are giving up on your dreams. It just means that you are being conscious that the present will teach you the lessons that you need to prepare you for your future.
Henry David Thoreau said, “Enjoy the bloom of the present moment.” So, take his advice and bloom where you are planted right now. Do not be distracted contemplating the future; be the best you can be in the now. Have a good attitude in the now. Be grateful for what you have in the now. Doing this is the best proving ground for what is to come for you.
Remember, there are seasons for planting, watering, pulling the weeds and maintaining. You need to go through each season to get to your harvest. There are lessons each season provides. Where you are right now is preparing you for your harvest time. If you are not living in the present, you will miss what you are being taught. When you are living life fully awake is when you will learn your lessons, see the beauty around you, and fully engage in a way that opens your eyes to your next opportunity.
You are exactly where you are meant to be right now. See the good and embrace the place where you are.
Have a GREAT day and a GREAT weekend.
