Happy Valentine's day! Though I do have a spouse that I will celebrate on this love-centered day, this year I decided I will also be celebrating another important person: MYSELF!
Sometimes it can be difficult to show love and appreciation for yourself, but it is important to take time celebrate the things you love about you. If you are struggling to fall in love with being you, try a few these tips:
1. Treat yourself: Is there something that you have wanted for a while? A favorite treat or meal? A movie you've wanted to see? Treat your self to it! You, just as much as anyone, deserve to indulge a bit and do something that makes your heart happy.
2. Ask yourself "What do I need": Do I need to laugh more? move more? alone time? Find out what it is that will help fill your cup and do it.
3. List your accomplishments: We all have a never-ending to do list, but let's flip the script. Create a list of things you have done that you are happy about and proud of. Looking at this list will remind you of all that you have achieved, feel happy, proud and capable, and provide you with a sense of awareness that you have accomplished so much (especially when you are feeling doubtful).
There are so many more ways that you can show yourself a little bit of love and appreciation, but these are a great place to start. I hope you have a great Valentine's Day and can carry this self-love over to your day to day routine.
