Monday Motivation - What You Think You Attract

Good Morning! It is Monday 😊! How was your weekend? I hope GREAT. You are beginning the first week of February. Can you believe that January has come and gone already? Yes, time flies; but you don’t have to be “swept away” from one month to the next without being truly present for it. In order to consciously create the life, you desire and deserve, take a few moments and assess how January went. Did you have any goals you created for the New Year? If so, what steps did you take toward them? How would you grade yourself on your progress, so far? If you are happy with your grade, GREAT! If not, decide right now about what you want to do to get back on track; and jot down your action steps to achieve this. It is that simple. Do not beat yourself up. Lift yourself up; dust yourself off and begin again. You will achieve your desires!

Today I want to talk about “mindset”. The mindset you choose each day impacts the life you live and the outcomes you achieve. Especially, considering the fact, that change is the constant in which you live your life. You are changing, your situations are changing, the world is changing; and it all happens very fast. Energy flows and moves continually; nothing stays the same. This can be exhilarating, and it can also be exhausting. Do you stop and ask yourself, “how am I greeting the change in my life?” Pause. Reflect. Think about the mindset you are embracing. Are you aware, or are you being blown around “to and fro” like a tumbleweed? If that is the case, how does that feel? You can do something about this!

Your life does not have to feel “out of control”; you have control over YOU! You cannot control your world from the outside because you do not control all the things that happen outside of you; they are outside of your “circle of control”. Instead of placing your needs in the hands of others, place them where they belong; in your hands. What you can do is manage your thoughts and feelings on the inside. You have control over your actions, reactions and responses. When you do this, your whole world changes. A simple quote that aligns with this thought is “Be Here Now” (Ram Dass). Well, it sounds simple; but it may not be as simple as it sounds. Do not let that stop you. Ask yourself what will work for you to enable you to greet each moment with a sense of calm, being present for the wisdom and growth that each moment brings and put it into practice

How do you prepare yourself for what each day brings? What practice can you put in place to align yourself for the day to be present, live your purpose and provide your brain a positive approach to achieve the best possible solutions/outcome? How you start your day matters. What you tell yourself matters. Words are powerful and can shape your thoughts, change your perceptions, help you connect with others; and transform your life.

Following are some things I do that have proven successful for me. Try them and see if they work for you; or they might provide an idea to create your own practice that will work better for you. The point is…do something! Take control of how you begin your day and it will become a habit that you can faithfully call upon as each day unfolds to experience better outcomes.

  • Start each day with a visual to think about during the day. A friend and intuitive (Jodi Livon) suggests that you visualize yourself as a “Giant Magnet”. Every thought you think, every word you say, every feeling you project out is magnetized back to you. So, magnetize the good stuff; remind yourself of this visualize throughout the day and think about the thoughts, words, etc. you are putting out into the world that are being attracted back at you!

  • Start each morning by creating an affirmation or mantra that you will recite, repeat, and be mindful of throughout the day. An affirmation is anything that you say or think. Many of the things we say, or think, are negative and do not create good experiences for us; so, retrain your thinking and speaking into positive patterns if you want to change your life. Affirmations and mantras are beginning points to change, and you are saying to your subconscious mind: “I am taking responsibility. I am aware that there is something I can do to change.” An affirmation or mantra is about consciously choosing words that either help eliminate something from your life or help create something new in your life. Examples are: “Forward progress. Just keep moving”; “I am fulfilled. I am fearless”; “I have so much to look forward to today”; “I am a magnet for the right solutions”; “I breathe into fear and turn it into an adventure”; you get the point. Create an affirmation or mantra in the morning; write it down; carry it around with you throughout the day and recite it. See what a difference it will make to your mind state😊.

  • Be aware of your breath. A telltale sign of where your mind state is in the present moment is stopping and becoming aware of how you are breathing. Many times, when we are stressed or harried, your breath is very shallow. Stop. Pause. Reflect. Create an “If-Then Plan.” If I am feeling stressed, then I will stop, pause and take three deep breaths; inhaling slowly and exhaling. When I do so, I experience calm, release and can focus on the here and now allowing me to think and respond more clearly.

I hope these ideas start your creative juices flowing. Use one of these or create your own. Remember – the lens through which you see the world shapes your reality. You must be free on the inside before you can be free on the outside. Your mindset and mind state matters. You can control the thought patterns that are filling your subconscious.Create wonderful, new beliefs for yourself that contribute to your success, health, wealth, and relationships.

Have a great day and a great week!
