Hello Friday - July 20, 2018

Happy Friday 😊 How was your week? Did it feel like you blinked and already the weekend was here once again? One day transitions into another day. One week transitions into another week. Not only do the days transition one into another; but your life is constantly changing, evolving and moving forward. Change is truly one constant you can rely on!

“Your life is a story of transition. You are always leaving one chapter behind while moving on to the next.” (Unknown)

Change, growth, and transition are always around you; sometimes subtle and at other times more obvious. Change can be liberating and exciting; but, change can also be difficult, chaotic and nerve-wracking. When you are experiencing change in your life, many times it can be accompanied by a period of transition, or “in-between”, when it feels as though you are in a state of limbo. The in-between tends to be a bit uncomfortable, uncertain, and difficult, but it is a necessary piece to get you from one chapter in life to the next. “The moment in between what you once were and the who you are becoming is where the dance of life really takes place” (Barbara de Angelis).

You can be certain that at one time or another you will experience moments of change and transition in your life. When you do, here are a few ways you can meet the challenge of life’s inevitable periods of transition:

  • Think positively: This transition is what you make of it. This is an opportunity. It is a time to shape your future , stimulate your mind, and create new neuropathways. Great opportunities and experiences await you,

  • Swing into action: Create a plan. What are the steps you need to take to complete your transition or get you over the hump? Remember - wherever you are is the entry point,

  • Get support: Friends and family are great resources to help you feel grounded. This grounding can make your transition a little more seamless and provide a sounding board for the anxiety you may feel and questions you may have about, “what’s next”. Remember: most likely, they have gone through many changes and transitions too. You are not alone.

Transformations, big and small, are what keeps life interesting. A life void of change would be a very dull one. Embrace it. You are creating new memories, making new friends, growing your mind, body and spirit, and becoming a fuller version of YOU!

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty,” (Maya Angelou).

I hope you have a fantastic weekend full of growth, opportunities, and memories!

Take Care 😊
