Happy Friday and Good Morning to each of you
Another week has gone by so fast. For much of this week, there have been many tributes to Barbara Bush and her life well lived. As I watched and listened to the stories told by her family and friends, I was struck by characteristics that were used to described her and the life she lived. Kindness, caring, humor, brave, brilliance, love for husband, family, humanity, country and life were just some of the many things recounted about her and her legacy. Jenna Bush Hager stated that her "Gans" said, "treat everyone equally, don't look down on anyone, use your voices for good and read all of the great books." Jenna said, "her words inspired actions and were examples for all of us to follow."
Hearing these stories made me stop and reflect on life; specifically being grateful for each and every moment, and again realizing that how we show up, moment by moment and experience by experience, creates our legacy.
As I was reading in one of my reflection books, I came upon this excerpt that seems so relevant and I want to share with you today. It reads:
"This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or you can use it to your advantage. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; and in its place is something that you have left behind.....let it be something you are proud of."
Have a GREAT day - use it well! Have a GREAT weekend - put first in your life the things that are truly important to you.
